About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Education Manager to join our team at Novus, a leading provider of prison education. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Vocational Trainers and overseeing the day-to-day running of curriculum areas within the establishment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of up to 10 Vocational Trainers
  • Responsible for the day-to-day running, management, and delivery of curriculum areas
  • Work closely with the Local Education Manager and prison Governor's representatives
  • Provide strategic and operational direction to the Education team
  • Coach and develop the Education team to drive high-quality performance and outcomes
Requirements
  • Experience of implementing and managing continuous quality assurance and improvement procedures
  • History of working effectively with individuals presenting challenging behaviors
  • Teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
  • Degree or equivalent (including equivalent life/career experience)
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • TAQA Internal Verifier award/V1 or equivalent desirable but not essential
  • Level 4 or equivalent subject specialism or vocational qualification desirable but not essential
