Job Summary:

Cedar is seeking a highly skilled Senior Public Health Engineer to provide Mechanical and Public Health engineering support on a high-profile rail programme. The successful candidate will lead a small engineering team to deliver the design, installation, and commissioning of Mechanical and Public Health scope of works.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team to deliver Mechanical and Public Health design, installation, and commissioning.
  2. Undertake design review to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  3. Manage 3rd party design consultants and liaise with main contractors and designers.
  4. Ensure design risk assessment is compliant with installation parameters.
  5. Participate in HazID, HazOP, and HazCON's and provide engineered solutions to key project problems.
  6. Manage design registers, meeting minutes, and drawing registers.
  7. Direct liaison with CAD/BIM team to ensure correct drawing modelling.
  8. Attend interdisciplinary design reviews and checks.
  9. Development of scope documents for tenders and procurement processes.
  10. Support commissioning of Mechanical Systems and direct liaison with installation teams.
  11. Working with commercial to track technical or design change and variances.
  12. Working with planning department to plan design, installation, and T&C works.
  13. Management of subcontractor works and ensuring design and works comply with client quality management systems.
  14. Keep up to date with all Mechanical, construction, and relevant legislation, law, standards, and best practice.
  15. Training and mentoring of the Mechanical engineering/Mechanical design team.
Requirements:
  1. Knowledge of relevant Mechanical and Public Health installations legislation and standards.
  2. Knowledge of design processes and associated compliance.
  3. Advanced MS Office skills including Excel.
  4. Utilisation of MS Project or P6.
  5. Working knowledge of Large HVAC systems, Fire rated duct work, Staircase Pressurisation Systems, Smoke Clearance, Potable water, DHW, gravity/pumped drainage, rainwater collection.
  6. 7 years' experience within a similar Mechanical or Public Health Engineering position.
  7. Previously worked within the infrastructure/construction environment.
  8. Experience with offsite construction, modularisation, pre-fabrication, and DfMA.
Qualifications:
  1. Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  2. Engineering Council Registration as Incorporated Engineer.
  3. Registered member IMechE, IET, CIBSE or recognised Engineering Council Institutions.
  4. SMSTS, SSSTS or IOSH Managing Safety.
  5. CSCS Card - AQP or PQP min.
  6. Full UK drivers license.
