About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Forensic Healthcare Specialist to join our team at Mountain Healthcare. As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will work closely with the police to provide high-quality care to detainees and their needs, which can vary from drug/alcohol dependency to acute medical episodes.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse or Paramedic, with a strong background in acute medical healthcare. Previous experience in A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, or as a Paramedic Practitioner would be highly beneficial.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and resilient individual to work in a dynamic and lively environment, with no two days the same. You will receive comprehensive training and support to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner, and will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced team to make a positive and life-long difference to people's lives.

Job Opportunity

This role is based within Abingdon Police Custody Suite, and offers a 4-on-4-off rota pattern, providing a great work-life balance. We are looking for a Full-Time and Part-Time candidate to join our team, and offer a range of benefits, including enhanced sickness pay, enhanced maternity pay, a well-being programme, and a pension scheme.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Forensic sampling, including road traffic offence bloods
  • Signposting and conducting referrals, offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending
  • Delivering substance misuse therapies
  • Assessment and care of detainees and staff in custody suites
  • Acute disease management
  • Promoting good personal healthcare
  • Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs
