About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Diabetes Dietitian to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality dietetic care to patients with diabetes.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess, treat, and support patients living with diabetes who require dietetic support.
  • To deliver structured education and group sessions in various areas, including wards, outpatient clinics, and community settings.
  • To act as an autonomous practitioner and source of expertise in diabetes dietetics, supporting junior staff and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • To undertake training, audit, and evaluation as part of the team.
  • To be actively involved in the training and supervision of student dietitians.
  • To contribute to Service Quality Improvement projects.
  • To attend and feedback in MDT meetings.
  • To empower patients through shared decision-making.

Requirements
  • Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Dietitian.
  • Relevant post-registration clinical experience.
  • Experience of regular teaching and delivery of presentations.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
