Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Healthcare Support Worker to join our team on the Medical Assessment Unit within the Division of Medicine at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Registered Nurses in the delivery of effective and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in meetings and handover discussions to ensure patients receive safe and effective care.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels on the ward or department.
  • Undertake errand duties, including transporting specimens, collecting instruments and drugs, and collecting case notes.
Requirements
  • Effective level of numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Proven ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and help others.
  • Proven ability to be flexible in approach.
Benefits
