About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Public Health Specialist Practitioner to join our team in Somerset, working on early intervention and public health initiatives.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, ensuring effective delivery of skilled care, and participating in projects, pilots, research, and audit as required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and delivering skilled care to promote positive health and respond to identified client needs, reflecting the prime objective of tackling disadvantage and inequality.
  • Providing professional leadership to manage a defined team, undertaking ongoing community health needs profiles, and ensuring that appropriate interaction is provided and coordinated.
  • Working with vulnerable children and families in line with national and local policies relating to safeguarding children and providing specialist support and advice regarding their health and wellbeing needs.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Registered Health Visitor Public Health Specialist Practitioner Degree (or equivalent qualification pre-1988) with evidence of continued professional development.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Public Health and Preventative Strategy, child protection procedures and policies, report writing skills, IT competence, and ability to maintain records as per NMC Guidelines/local policy.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is £41,271 - £49,561 per annum, based on Agenda for Change Band 6.
