Senior Claims Operations Director

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Senior Claims Operations Lead to join our team at American International Group (AIG). As a key member of our UK Claims Operations Team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and excellence through strategic initiatives, process improvement, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement claims strategic initiatives to drive business growth and excellence
- Deliver service excellence through process improvement initiatives
- Manage first-line claims requirements, including SOX, FCA, PRA, and internal/external regulatory and control environment
- Collaborate with Claims Operations Analysts to deliver project plans and lead projects independently
- Work closely with International Claims Programme/Project Manager to deliver IT projects and prioritize IT Audit & Regulatory changes for the UK
- Maintain project documentation, including reporting, plans, risk register, and communicate with stakeholders as appropriate
- Execute Global and International strategic initiatives to ensure UK Claims embed change and cater for local requirements while recognizing consistency and alignment
- Maintain strong stakeholder engagement and communication with a focus on collaboration within the UK and across International Claims
- Drive a strong risk management culture in UK Claims with a focus on continuous improvement
- Maintain strong first-line controls for key risks identified in UK claims, working collaboratively with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Operational Risk Management (ORM), Internal Audit Group (IAG), and Compliance to continuously improve
- Coordinate and own (where appropriate) risk event mitigation plans and resolution of internal audit action plans across the UK
- Collaborate with Global Claims Governance & Compliance to maintain UK Claims policies, standards, and controls, and deliver training where necessary
- Prepare and accommodate changes in the regulatory environment that impact AIG's compliance obligations
- Partner with claims teams across the UK to provide continuous feedback, sharing information and learnings to manage and improve regulatory performance
The successful candidate will have proven experience in project delivery, the ability to communicate and influence at varying levels, and a proven track record in governance within the Insurance industry, preferably within claims. A Compliance, Governance, and/or audit, regulatory background with a good awareness of the Business and Regulatory environment is also essential.
