Regional Building Services Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Manager to join a leading contractor with a strong presence in the Healthcare, Education, and Local Authority sectors. The company is committed to growth and expansion, making this a great time to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the building services element from construction to handover, providing technical support to onsite construction activities, and assisting the Design Manager in their duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review tender information and determine the scope and extent of remaining design work prior to the tender start-up meeting.
  • Verify that existing tender information is compliant, coordinated, affordable, and buildable prior to the tender settlement meeting.
  • Determine the strategy for completing remaining design work in conjunction with the bid team.
  • Assess and audit novated design team members and negotiate additional services if necessary.
  • Prepare and issue fee enquiries for supplementary design team members.
  • Develop competitive, technically robust design and engineering solutions in conjunction with the design team.
  • Engage with specialist subcontractors to develop innovative design solutions and close out design interfaces.
  • Manage the submission and timely approval of reviewable design data.
  • Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns, establish interfaces, and review alternative design.
  • Prepare technical submissions for alternative designs, systems, components, products, and material proposals for client approval.
  • Establish quality benchmarks, review regularly, and undertake final acceptance.
  • Manage the installation of utilities.

Requirements:
  • Experience covering design, construction, and commissioning stages of complex projects.
  • A high level of technical expertise in MEP services, including process engineering.
  • Experience working in 3D and with off-site manufacturing approaches.
  • Competence in the use of 4Projects or similar Common Data Environment.
  • Knowledge of software, including AutoCAD and BIM.
  • HNC or above in a Building Services/Construction-related field.
  • A full UK driving license.
