Job Summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tenancy Sustainment Officer Lead to join their Transformation Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for line managing Tenancy Sustainment Officers across the South of Staffordshire and working with teams that put people at the heart of all that they do.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a single point of contact for Tenancy Support Officers (TSOs)
  • Provide leadership and supervision to TSOs and deputise for the Relationships, Contracts and Quality Assurance Manager
  • Work alongside multi-disciplinary teams providing specialist tenancy and housing-related support
  • Work with service users with complex mental health needs to live independently and remain in their own home if suitable, or help them find alternative suitable accommodation
  • Act as the main point of contact to answer queries and troubleshoot issues, including homelessness, evictions, and repair work with Health & Safety risks
  • Act as the conduit between MPFT Mental Health services and local authorities
  • Assist in delivering a high standard of support to vulnerable service users who are at risk of losing their home or may already be homeless

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree educated or equivalent experience in an operational field relating to Housing Support and/or Leadership and Management
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional and personal development
  • Evidence of/willing to undertake training relevant to the post

Experience

  • Experience of working with people who have difficulty engaging with services and have mental health needs
  • Experience of working in a community setting and making decisions autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to promote service user involvement
  • Counselling skills, case management experience, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Good presentation skills, both written and oral, including the ability to produce and present reports
