Central London, United Kingdom Security Service MI5 Full time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team in Central London. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading the analysis of large or complex business problems and delivering impact at the heart of national security.

About Us

Security Service MI5 is part of the UK's Intelligence Services, working together to safeguard Britain's people, interests, and businesses from various threats. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in our digital mission, evolving our business processes and technology delivery.

The Role

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, getting to grips with complex business problems and collaborating with colleagues to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities. Your responsibilities will include reviewing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and engaging with stakeholders to refine requirements.

You will use modelling techniques to structure and understand data, converting it into valuable information, and identify and measure the impact of change. You will also communicate complex matters succinctly, influencing people and adapting to complex or uncertain situations.

About You

We are looking for a skilled practitioner with extensive experience in defining and shaping problems, working with a wide range of stakeholders to meet customer needs. You should have experience with delivery methodologies such as Waterfall or Agile, embedding change within an organisation, and using quantitative and qualitative data to turn user focus into business outcomes.

Experience in adapting quickly in an ambiguous problem space, applying different methodologies to explore unknowns and test hypotheses, is also essential. You should be able to retain a coherent view of the bigger picture and how teams, people, and innovation fit into it as a system.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £68,000 - £74,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience. Other benefits include 25 days Annual Leave, rising to 30 days after 5 years' service, plus public and privilege holidays. We also offer an interest-free season ticket loan, excellent pension scheme, cycle to work scheme, and paid parental and adoption leave.

Training and Development

We are committed to developing our staff, providing tailored training, coaching, and mentoring. You will have access to professional qualifications and certifications and specialist business analysis pathways. Progression through the Government Digital and Data Profession capability framework pay points will be based on regular demonstrations and accreditations of your skills.
