We are a leading contractor for heavy civil engineering construction at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth. Our team operates in a high-security military naval base environment.

Job Overview

The Instrument Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting our surveying teams. The successful candidate will have experience working in a nuclear licensed site or similar controlled environments, and possess relevant academic qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure survey equipment is received and returned according to procedures
  • Manage survey and measurement equipment for the surveying team
  • Provide technical support to engineers, guiding them through surveying standards
  • Verify instruments are checked by users, identify faulty instruments, and quarantine them
  • Create and maintain records, including the Instrument Check and Adjust Records spreadsheet
  • Manage calibration certificates and distribute survey procedures
Requirements
  • Surveyor or engineer with a background in the construction industry
  • UK major projects experience
  • NVQ Level 3 and above qualification in Surveying, Construction, or Civil Engineering
  • Experience of similar roles and using survey instruments and software
