Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing tooling performance, enhancing quality, and reducing waste through the application of problem-solving skills and continuous improvement techniques.

Key Responsibilities

The Precision Instrument Specialist will:

  • Design, fabricate, and commission new jigs and fixtures to support production processes.
  • Analyse tooling issues, identify faults, and develop effective preventive and total productive maintenance strategies.
  • Record all activities in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Sourcing and procuring spare components as required.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A completed apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter, Machinist, or Toolmaker, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC lathe, CNC mill, and surface grinding.
  • Experience with CAD, 3D modelling, and Inventor is highly desirable.
  • A background in tooling design.

The estimated annual salary for this position is £39,500, plus a monthly bonus, pension, holiday, bank holidays, life insurance, wellness programme, and additional benefits.
