The International Maritime Organization is seeking a highly skilled Copyright and Licensing Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Publishing Service, you will play a crucial role in supporting the coordination and administration of copyright and licensing for all IMO sales publications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for copyright and licensing management.
- Collaborate with senior team members to negotiate and draft agreements and contract extensions, and conduct royalty statement reviews.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on rights management best practices.
- Support the building and maintenance of relationships with rights and licensing service providers.
- Contribute to the development of distribution strategies for IMO sales publications across various platforms.
Business Acumen
You will be responsible for analyzing rights and licensing trends, and technologies to formulate strategic recommendations for the business. This will involve preparing statistical analyses and reports on rights and licensing activities and proposing recommendations for improving business practices.
Sales and Marketing Support
You will support the implementation of initiatives to promote IMO's sales products to a global audience, leveraging digital platforms and in-person demonstrations to maximize reach and impact. This will involve managing relationships with distributors and participating in responding to customer enquiries and requests.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to have a strong understanding of copyright and licensing principles and practices, as well as experience in rights management and business development.
