Business Intelligence Analyst Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a Business Intelligence solution to support the growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify areas of the business that could benefit from analysis.
  2. Develop and implement a suite of business reports to provide next to real-time business performance measures.
  3. Develop and implement website embedded dashboards for customer information needs.
  4. Review data collection processes and assess the validity of the information stored.
  5. Creation of a suitable architecture logically presenting and linking all data sources in the business.
  6. Identifying anomalous data and examining and eliminating any processes or procedures that contribute to unreliable data being collected.
  7. Working closely with the Information Systems Developer to ensure that the data ETL and storage systems are secure and robust.
  8. Supporting the implementation and integration of new software, services, and systems across all aspects of the business.
  9. Delivering internal training on the execution of basic tasks within Power BI.

Requirements:

  1. Power BI Development including the data model, DAX, and visualizations.
  2. Power BI Administration.
  3. Microsoft BI Stack.
  4. Proficiency in SQL / SQL Server Database.
  5. Knowledge of analytic database functionality (partitioning, compression, column-store technologies).
  6. Cloud Data Technologies (Azure - SQL Database, Data Lake, HD Insight, Data Factory etc).
  7. Ability to work in teams or standalone and prioritize effectively.

Working Arrangements:

The jobholder will be based at home or Head Office. They will be expected to visit Head Office in Birmingham from time to time, visit operational sites or journey away from home including periods abroad as required to support the business needs.
