Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Coordinator to join our dedicated Donor team within a renowned cancer charity. This pivotal role is responsible for providing comprehensive support to donors post-donation, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure appropriate post-donation care and manage the donor follow-up process, ensuring donors feel valued and informed throughout the recovery process.
  • Coordinate with medical advisors and professionals to provide necessary medical attention and support to donors post-donation.
  • Offer ongoing support to donors through regular communication, providing educational materials and guidance on post-donation recovery.
  • Conduct standard health assessments following a stem cell donation, maintaining accurate records and reporting on donor follow-up activities and outcomes.
  • Facilitate communication of post-donation activities, including anonymous correspondence and updates on the recipient's progress.
  • Respond to, investigate, or escalate any quality incidents, adverse events, or complaints promptly, ensuring compliance with all medical/health-related standards and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain the specialised database to track donor interactions and recovery status, providing insights for process improvements.
Requirements
  • A-Level education (or equivalent) or relevant vocational training.
  • 2+ years of work experience in a busy team/organisation, preferably in healthcare, donor coordination, or patient support roles.
  • Proficiency in using large database/CRM systems, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening and a good phone manner.
  • Ability to work to and achieve clear targets and deadlines, with a passion for the mission and values of the organisation.
