Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant

Location: North Birmingham

Salary: £80-£90/day

Contract Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) in our specialist school in North Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or adults with PMLD or other complex needs and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with PMLD, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
  • Assist with daily activities, including feeding, personal care, and mobility.
  • Implement individualized learning plans and provide tailored support to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Use specialist equipment and resources to facilitate learning and promote independence.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or adults with PMLD or other complex needs.
  • A caring and patient approach, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care duties.
  • A valid DBS or willingness to apply for one.
