Job Title: Production Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join our team in Northampton. As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for leading new part introduction for Prototype and Production engines/components, designing and developing production methods, jigs, and fixtures for New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, and managing the release of new products into production.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement efficient production methods and processes to meet production targets.
  2. Collaborate with design departments to support effective Design for Manufacture (DFM) and ensure that products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
  3. Manage and report on project and part costs, and estimate production times and costs accurately.
  4. Work with the supply chain and develop subcontract processes to support manufacturing.
  5. Ensure health, safety, environmental, and energy considerations are part of all activities.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in machining complex components within automotive or aerospace industries.
  2. Relevant engineering qualification (Degree or HNC minimum).
  3. Strong experience in CAD/CAM systems (Siemens NX12 or equivalent).
  4. Experience using Vericut (v9) simulation and SAP ERP systems.
  5. Up-to-date knowledge of machining and inspection techniques.
