Pay Range/Details: £42,000 - £47,000

Contract Type: Permanent

Omega Resource Group is supporting a leading engineering company in the automotive and aerospace sectors, currently seeking a motivated individual to join their Manufacturing Support team as a Production Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in machining complex engine components, with a strong interest in high-performance engines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead new part introduction for Prototype and Production engines/components.
  2. Design and develop production methods, jigs, and fixtures for New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  3. Produce CNC programs for 3, 4, 5-axis, and Turn-mill machines using Siemens NX (V12) and Vericut.
  4. Manage the release of new products into production, ensuring targets are met for time and cost.
  5. Implement cutting-edge machining technologies to improve cycle times and reduce tooling costs.
  6. Collaborate with design departments to support effective Design for Manufacture (DFM).
  7. Liaise with multiple departments to transition new products smoothly from design to production.
  8. Assist in staff training program implementation.
  9. Manage and report on project and part costs.
  10. Estimate production times and costs accurately.
  11. Work with the supply chain and develop subcontract processes to support manufacturing.
  12. Ensure health, safety, environmental, and energy considerations are part of all activities.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in machining complex components within automotive or aerospace industries.
  2. Relevant engineering qualification (Degree or HNC minimum).
  3. Strong experience in CAD/CAM systems (Siemens NX12 or equivalent).
  4. Experience using Vericut (v9) simulation and SAP ERP systems.
  5. Up-to-date knowledge of machining and inspection techniques.
  6. Logical approach to problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  7. Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to change.
  8. Flexible approach to working hours to support projects.
