About the Job

Morgan Sindall Construction is looking for a talented Quantity Surveying Professional to join their team in Plymouth. As a key member of the Commercial Team, you will be responsible for managing subcontractor supplier accounts, providing financial and contractual control on all contracts allocated within the South West. This position is project based.

Key Tasks:

  1. Produce accurate financial reports to contribute to achieving the appropriate commercial result
  2. Manage subcontractor supplier accounts to ensure financial and contractual compliance
  3. Develop strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  4. Support the site team in managing contract requirements and resolving commercial issues
  5. Deliver the business forecast in turnover and margin, identifying opportunities to maximise value and minimise costs
  6. Place subcontract orders in accordance with the main contract and manage subcontractor accounts ensuring timely payments and resolution of commercial issues
  7. Monitor subcontractor performance against programme and identify areas for improvement
  8. Analyse market trends to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate contracts
  9. Collaborate with the team to produce cost value reconciliation reports and forecast cash recovery, keeping them in line with targets
  10. Ensure applications for payment and invoices are completed and submitted to meet payment terms and WIP and cash targets.
  11. Comply with all contractual requirements and monitor internal expenditure against budget

Requirements:

  • BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or other commercially related subject, and/or RICS Membership
  • Strong knowledge of collating and/or producing site records necessary for interim and final account payments and cost reports
  • Experience with COINS and period cost reporting

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
