Job Title: Entry-Level Distribution Engineer

About the Role:

POWER Engineers is seeking an entry-level Distribution Engineer to join our Power Delivery Distribution Services Department in Trussville, Alabama. As a Distribution Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing distribution line systems, including electrical design, physical design, and material lists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop distribution line systems, including electrical design, physical design, and material lists.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in distribution engineering.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, preferably with a power option.
  • Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to pass client background screening process.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Desired Qualifications:

  • BSEE, BSEET, or BSME degree from an ABET-accredited university, preferably with a power option.
  • Minimum of 2.75 GPA.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Basic understanding of overhead and underground distribution circuits.
  • Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially in the power industry or distribution engineering.
