Maths Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths Teacher to join our team at New Forest Care Ltd. This is an excellent opportunity for a subject specialist in Maths to make a positive impact on the lives of our students.

New Forest Care Ltd is an outstanding, small independent school with a strong reputation for providing high-quality education and care to vulnerable students with ASD, attachment difficulties, social, emotional, and mental health needs, and challenging behaviours.

Our school offers a unique and supportive learning environment, with small class sizes and high staff ratios. Our students benefit from access to excellent facilities, including our school farm and Outdoor Learning Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, following the national curriculum, and working closely with our therapy and pastoral teams to provide individualized educational provision.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing quality education and care, and who has a desire to work in an SEN setting. The ideal candidate will have effective communication and relationship-building skills, and be able to support children with social and emotional behavioural needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering lessons that meet the needs of our students
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and therapy teams to provide individualized support
  • Using Team Teach trained techniques to intervene physically with students when required
  • Building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

Qualifications and requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent required
  • Proven teaching experience in an SEN setting
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
