Coventry, Coventry, United Kingdom Coventry Building Society Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Controls Specialist to join our Property team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for identifying, challenging, and reporting risks across the Property function in line with our Enterprise Risk Management Framework and other business policies.

You will work closely with Senior Managers to identify risks, propose control measures, and ensure resolution of actions within agreed timescales. Your attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards will be essential in this role.

In addition to risk management, you will also support the Manager – Property Support in managing departmental financial processes, including the prompt processing of invoices, purchase orders, payments, accruals, and financial receipting/balancing.

This is a key role within the Property team, requiring someone with good risk management and financial experience, who can apply broad, practical thinking across a diverse function. You will be a subject matter expert, engaging positively with key stakeholders, and keeping pace with changing internal and external expectations in a continually evolving landscape.

We offer a range of flexible working options, including part-time and hybrid working, and are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community where you can succeed as your whole self.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have proven analytical skills, with the ability to review data and identify issues requiring follow-up, escalation, and root cause analysis. You will have a good understanding or experience of managing risks and controls, ideally with a background in the regulatory environment surrounding financial services or property/premises.

Excellent planning and organizing skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, will be key. You will be inquisitive, have good attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, be methodical, and highly organized in your approach, with the ability to work on your own initiative.

Strong stakeholder management, persuading, and influencing skills will be essential, as will the ability to assess compliance to policy and recommend mitigating actions. Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, is also required.
