Job Title: Climate Governance Policy Analyst

Job Summary:

LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university. We are seeking a Policy Analyst to work in collaboration with Dr. Alina Averchenkova and the institute's other staff as part of the project 'Strengthening democratic governance for climate transitions' (RETOOL), funded under Horizon Europe, focusing on the role of deliberative public participation, such as climate assemblies, and independent advisory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with RETOOL project partners at several European Universities, support coordination of the project, and contribute to other projects on climate governance across the institute through a range of policy analysis and research activities, including literature reviews, case studies, horizon-scanning, workshops, and bi-lateral engagements.
  2. Contribute to the publications of policy reports and academic papers.

Requirements:

  1. Postgraduate degree in political science, environmental policy, sociology, or a related field.
  2. Substantive work experience on climate policy or deliberative democracy.
  3. Good understanding of and demonstrated experience in analysing climate change policies and/or public participation processes, including experience in undertaking literature reviews, applied research, and policy analysis.
  4. Strong project management skills and ability to work with and coordinate multiple partners across Europe.
  5. Experience of writing for and engaging with policy audiences.
  6. Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce high-quality policy analysis in a timely manner, including the ability to analyse and research complex ideas and apply appropriate methodologies.
