Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to join our RF Power division in Chelmsford. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for managing complex engineering projects from bid to production, ensuring timely delivery, quality expectations, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate engineering teams, departments, and third-party suppliers to execute projects successfully.
  • Ensure project roles and tasks are clearly defined, understood, and delivered.
  • Plan, cost, and resource projects to achieve the program in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Regularly review project progress, assessing time, cost, quality, and risks.
  • Manage changes to project scopes and objectives, involving stakeholders, and assessing feasibility.
  • Keep project stakeholders informed of progress, performance, and manpower utilization.
  • Manage relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects adhere to internal project management processes and procedures.
  • Establish new or improve existing delivery methodologies to deliver program goals.
  • Support Business Development in securing new business and setting strategy.
  • Line manage multi-disciplined engineering teams, manage resources, and drive high performance.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in managing engineering projects through the lifecycle.
  • Demonstrable experience in energizing teams to meet critical timescales and deliver projects.
  • Persuasive and clear communication skills across all levels of the business.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Sound judgement - understanding when to own and brief and when to escalate.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project and MS Project Server or other enterprise project management tools.
  • A working knowledge of SAP would be beneficial.
  • Qualification in project management methodologies desirable.
  • Holding or eligible for Security Clearance and a UK National.
