Electrical Engineer for Stainless Steel Industry

The company Edwards & Pearce is a global leader in the stainless steel industry. As an electrical maintenance engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant in Sheffield.

As a permanent member of our team, you will work on a 4 on 4 off shift basis, with working hours from 6am to 6pm. Your main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Accountability for all electrical, electronic, and process control work occurring on the plant
  • Providing first line maintenance/breakdown rectification resource
  • Managing electrical engineering activities on shift to comply with health, safety and environmental requirements

You will also be responsible for carrying out electrical installation work as required, assisting with the planning of shift activities, and providing relevant information and reports of plant breakdowns.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in electrical engineering, preferably with experience in a large steelmaking environment. You should be able to demonstrate a high level of practical mechanical/electrical hands-on skills, as well as good communication and problem-solving abilities.

The salary for this position is £33,000 per annum, with an increase of 7% after 3 months. You will also receive a 30% shift allowance, overtime paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate, and certain bank holidays paid at double time. In addition, you will be entitled to 28 days holiday, pension contributions, and various other benefits.
