The role of the Binding Authority Technician is crucial in providing exceptional technical administration support to clients and business units at Miller.

The Key Responsibilities

  • Track impending renewals and provide timely renewal information to Account Executives to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Liaise with Account Executives to ensure accurate and comprehensive market documentation, aligning with client and market requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date diary/pending systems to monitor progress and ensure timely resolution of queries.
  • Produce high-quality client documentation in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the corporate document management system to maintain accurate and concise placing files.
  • Liaise with compliance and credit control to ensure adherence to all procedures.
  • Maintain accurate aggregate and GPI limits within Binder management systems.
  • Be responsible for maintaining accurate data and records within Binder management system.
  • Generate exception and trend analysis reporting, profit commission calculation, and key performance indicator reports.
  • Prepare and submit London Market Insurance documentation, including LPANs and supporting documents to Xchanging.
  • Provide expert resolution to technical questions from clients, markets, credit control, claims, and the business unit, ensuring the client's best interests are maintained.
  • Offer regular updates and progress reports to management as required.
  • Maintain a diary system to ensure files are appropriately progressed.
  • Monitor signings received from Xchanging and ensure timely resolution of queries and settlement of premiums, advising the business as necessary.
  • Perform quality control checks on all documentation.
  • Ensure Binding Authority contracts are set up within internal Binder management systems in a timely fashion.
  • Meet the expectations of Miller, as outlined in its policies and procedures, training material, and embedded in its systems and controls.
  • Comply with external rules and requirements imposed on individuals performing their role at Miller, such as Lloyd's byelaws and FCA rules.
  • Promote the Miller brand and values to enhance Miller's reputation in the market.

Requirements

  • CII qualifications or ongoing progress towards these is desirable.
  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Minimum of 3 A level passes (or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of binders process.
  • Experience working in a technical binder processing role essential.
  • Experience with the use of Lloyd's market tools including Atlas, DCOM, and Crystal.
