Education Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Education Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Smallfield, Surrey. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism and associated behavioural and communication difficulties.
Job Description:
You will be responsible for supporting the Class Teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class, including lesson planning, implementation, and assessment. You will also be expected to establish positive relationships with students, promote independence, and respond to changing situations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Class Teacher in planning, implementing, and assessing student learning
• Establish positive relationships with students to promote a sense of safety and well-being
• Encourage independence and personal development in students
• Respond to changing situations and adapt to meet the needs of the school
• Provide physical support to students when required, with full training provided
Requirements:
• GCSE Maths and English qualification at minimum Level 3/Grade C or equivalent
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential)
• Experience working in a special school environment (highly desirable)
• Team TEACH Training (desirable)
