Data Protection and Privacy Expert Wanted

At Globe Business Media Group, we're seeking a skilled data protection and privacy lawyer to join our team on a freelance basis. As a data protection specialist, you'll be responsible for reviewing and updating our Lexology PRO data protection practical resources to ensure they remain accurate and current.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience advising corporate entities on data protection and privacy, either in private practice or in-house. You'll need to have a good understanding of legal workflows and the practical needs of in-house lawyers, as well as private practice and the legal market generally.

Responsibilities will include thoroughly reviewing Lexology Pro UK commercial practical resources, updating and amending where required, and liaising closely with the Lexology PRO team to adhere to agreed timeframes for production of content.

Key skills and expertise required include:
  • Lawyer qualified in England and Wales (solicitor or barrister) and/or the EU with at least three years' recent experience advising on data privacy matters;
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the law and market practice in the area of data protection and privacy;
  • Good understanding of legal workflows and the practical needs of (in particular) in-house lawyers, as well as private practice and the legal market generally;
  • Excellent written English with a clear, succinct style;
  • Demonstrable experience in writing practical legal content that is concise and easy to digest;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Ability to effectively manage own time to ensure work completed efficiently and to agreed timescales.
