Job Overview

This senior residential home leader role is crucial in ensuring the highest levels of care and service are maintained within the company's mission, vision, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional support, training, guidance, and supervision to residential staff, while also supporting the team in establishing, renewing, maintaining, and implementing person-centred care plans for each child or young person.

Main Responsibilities

  • Care Service Delivery: As the Registered Manager, you will ensure that the care services meet the required standards, including managing risks to the health, welfare, and normal development of children and young people both inside and outside the home. You will also oversee the home environment, ensuring it is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the children and young people being cared for.
  • Staff Management: You will lead and manage the residential staff, providing leadership, guidance, and management to support them in delivering exceptional care. This includes recruiting, selecting, and developing staff members, ensuring they receive regular supervision, training, and appraisals.
  • Resource Allocation: As the senior manager, you will be responsible for allocating roles and tasks within the base home, ensuring effective operation while maximizing available resources. You will also manage the budget allocation, maintain control over financial resources, and ensure that repairs are completed on time.
  • Health and Safety: You will ensure that the home environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained, adhering to health and safety regulations and guidelines. This includes conducting daily walkarounds, completing monthly health and safety requirement lists, and ensuring adequate security systems operate within the home.

Requirements

  • NVQ L3 / L4 Children and Young Peoples Workforce
  • NVQ L5 Leadership and Management
  • 2 years' experience in a children's residential setting at senior level
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence
