Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Teacher to lead our Intensive Support Provision (ISP) at Perth and Kinross Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and supporting children with a range of additional support needs, including autism, ADHD, social and communication difficulties, and sensory difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and support children in one of the ISP classes, working closely with the Class Teacher and Pupil Support Assistants.
  • Lead the quality assurance activities and work with the School Senior Leadership team to plan improvement priorities for the ISP.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and targets to improve outcomes for children.
  • Lead the curriculum planning and development of inclusive learning environments that incorporate visual supports, sensory learning activities, and communication-friendly approaches.
  • Work closely with families, partner agencies, and the Senior Leadership Team to promote inclusion and support the needs of children.

Requirements

  • Experience of teaching and supporting children with a range of additional support needs.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families and partner agencies.
  • Ability to develop and implement individual learning plans and targets to improve outcomes for children.
  • Knowledge of inclusive learning practices and the ability to develop and implement inclusive learning environments.
