Job Summary

The Highland Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our team as a leadership role in a nursery setting. As a key member of the nursery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high-quality early learning and childcare experience for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to other early years staff to ensure the delivery of early level learning.
  • Work closely with the Head Teacher to develop and implement effective strategies for improving the quality of early learning and childcare.
  • Engage with parents and carers to ensure they are actively involved in their child's learning journey.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the well-being and safety of children.

Requirements

  • Hold a recognized qualification in Childcare and Education (e.g. HNC/NNEB/SVQ 3).
  • Be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or be willing to apply for registration.
  • Have experience of working in a nursery setting and a proven track record of delivering high-quality early learning and childcare.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
