Audit Manager

We're seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our team at BDO UK. As a key member of our Not-for-Profit sector, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients across various sub-sectors, including charities, housing, and education.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of clients, providing assistance to Partners on client work and team management.
- Play a significant role in delivering BDO's national Not-for-Profit strategy, including growth plans.
- Act as a major point of contact within the firm, responding to requests and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
- Responsible for the financial management of a portfolio, completing assignments within agreed budgets and timescales.
- Ensure assignments are staffed with the appropriate mix of knowledge and skills required.
- Identify and recognise business and sales opportunities, supporting Partners and Senior Managers in developing new business relationships.
- Recruit, retain, develop, and motivate employees, participating in graduate recruitment and ensuring job appraisal documentation is completed within deadlines.
- Work as part of a management team to plan resources, attend merit rate meetings, and implement efficiency gains.
- Act as an ambassador for the firm, participating in office marketing events and staying up-to-date with the firm's services.
- Act as a role model for trainees and executives.
- ACA/ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent.
- Previous experience of managing people.
- Good working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP, and Financial Reporting requirements.
- Working knowledge of financial products, firm services, issues regarding advice and regulation, and compliance, including anti-money laundering.
- Experience of systems/controls testing, substantive auditing, consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts, and disclosures.
- Project Management experience.
