Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our special needs Secondary school in Havant. This school caters for boys aged 11-16 who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties as well as other complex needs.

The successful candidate will work with small groups of KS3 and 4 boys, through targeted interventions, to ensure all students reach their full potential. They will create a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child can flourish.

The ideal candidate will have the right to work in the UK, an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years, and a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with small groups of KS3 and 4 boys, through targeted interventions, to ensure all students reach their full potential.
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child can flourish.
  • Supporting teachers in assessing student progress and providing informative feedback to pupils.
  • Supporting children with strategies to regulate their emotions effectively.
  • Safeguarding will be your number one priority, ensuring the welfare of the children.
