Senior Nuclear Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Operational Development Engineer to join our team at EDF UK. As an integral part of our operations, you will play a crucial role in preparing our site for the next generation of pressurised water reactors in the UK.
This exciting opportunity allows you to expand your engineering expertise and contribute to building the future operational capability by implementing and refining technical standards and strategies in collaboration with various teams.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Control Centre processes to ensure seamless plant handovers from construction through commissioning and into operations.
- Developing in-depth technical knowledge of HPC systems, encompassing both nuclear and conventional plant areas.
- Maintaining crucial technical and functional interfaces with responsible designers, central engineering, commissioning teams, contract partners, the EPR fleet, and existing generating stations.
- Taking engineering responsibility for assigned systems, ensuring optimal performance and long-term health through effective maintenance and inspection regimes, including preventative maintenance strategies and performance monitoring techniques like condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
- Contributing to design changes and document equipment reliability and criticality assessments, while also ensuring compliance with Licence Condition 28 and managing periodic test documentation.
To succeed in this dynamic position, you will need:
- A relevant HNC/D or degree (or equivalent) along with experience in a technical or engineering discipline.
- Previous technical or engineering management experience with operational plant systems and assets, including any of the following systems and components: pumps and motors, valves and actuators, pressure systems, HVAC, lifting equipment, steam turbine and process systems.
- Experience in a regulated industry is essential.
