Senior Nuclear Project Coordinator

Hinkley Point C is a pioneering nuclear power station project in the UK, aiming to deliver two new reactors and provide low-carbon electricity to six million homes.
As a Senior Nuclear Project Coordinator, you will report directly to the Senior Project Manager and be part of the MEH Programme, specifically within the WIC Area. Your primary role will be to lead the delivery of work packages from concept to installation, with values around £100 million. This includes overseeing engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and construction activities, all aligned with the Integrated Project schedule.
The WIC scope is highly ambitious and technically challenging, being essential to HPC operation. You will ensure that delivery meets safety, quality, time, and cost objectives for this iconic project.
Compensation Package:
We offer a competitive salary of circa £65,000 (negotiable depending on experience) and a market-leading pension scheme as part of our compensation package. Job Description:
- Support the Senior Project Manager in developing strategies aligning with the programme execution plan (PEP) for managing work.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and assist in delivering contract activities safely and on time, ensuring they meet budget and technical requirements while tracking progress and providing regular updates.
- Identify and resolve issues, manage risks, and escalate significant concerns to the Senior Project Manager.
- Collaboratively develop and maintain schedules that align with project timelines and promote lessons learned and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure all contractual requirements are met and help secure the resources needed for your project, ensuring qualified personnel are in place and promptly addressing any shortfalls.
Requirements:
- A knowledgeable project professional with a strong understanding of leadership and its application in complex projects.
- Numeracy, analytical, and critical reasoning skills, complemented by excellent presentation and influencing skills.
- An educational background in a relevant engineering, construction, or related technical subject, ideally at degree level.
- A professional qualification in Project Management, such as APM PPQ, is a plus.
- Background in procurement and management of complex contracts, effective control of costs, risks, schedules, and changes.
- Experience engaging multi-level stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
