We are seeking a skilled Bid Modeller / Commercial Manager to join our UK Transport Business as a key contributor to our continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of bid teams to develop winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks in liaison with the Bid Director and Bid Manager;
  • Implement these winning strategies into financial models taking account of project risks and company commercial expectations;
  • Present commercial strategies through the organisations governance process, helping gain approval from senior stakeholders;
  • Manage financial risk and opportunity across the business through both the bidding and project delivery phase;
  • Work with project managers and directors during the project delivery phase to help manage commercial risk and opportunities at a project level;
  • Advise teams on commercial contractual issues as and when the need arises;
  • Work with our internal business finance team to ensure that project related risk is appropriately managed within our project financial systems.

Requirements

  • Experience of bidding for engineering design services on design and build projects as the contractors designer;
  • A strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract, in particular being comfortable working with contracts that include the NEC Schedule of Cost Components;
  • Experience supporting the successful delivery of civil engineering projects either as a project manager or in a previous commercial role.
