Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced EC&I Engineer to join our team, providing design and engineering services for key nuclear clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering varied design and engineering packages and project tasks, with a focus on electrical and instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop design solutions to agreed time, cost, and quality, aligned to milestones.
  • Understand contractual and performance requirements for various systems and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Produce or check documentation required to support the design review process, including diagrams, technical specifications, calculations, design evidence, and justifications.
  • Ensure compliance against contractual requirements and Quality Assurance processes.
  • Review relevant supplier documentation.
  • Support design reviews and presentations to customers.

Requirements

  • Experience in full lifecycle engineering, technical report writing, Design Justification reports, presenting designs to colleagues and clients, testing, and ideally a good understanding in one of the following areas:
  • Instrumentation and control system theory, including PID control.
  • Electrical circuits design, EMC precautions, and power supply characteristics.
  • Safety Integrity Levels and BS EN 61508 or 61511.
  • Machinery Safety and UKCA Marking.
  • PLC programming.
  • Fieldbus technology (Profibus/Profinet).
  • Electrical power distribution.
  • Building services (lighting, fire safety systems, and small power).
