About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Consultant to join our team at State Street. As a Technical Consultant, you will play a key role in the implementation of sophisticated trade order management and compliance monitoring systems to the fund management industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of complex software systems, providing technical expertise and guidance to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical consultancy services, including software installation, configuration, and testing, as well as problem investigation and database configuration.
  • Design and develop solutions for clients' additional requirements, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Travel extensively to client sites in London and the EMEA region, working collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in at least one major DBMS (MS SQL Server or Oracle), including installation, configuration, and development.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-tier application architecture and system interfacing and integration.
  • Excellent development skills in Java and/or C#, with experience in web services, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and XML messaging.
  • Experience working in financial services, particularly in front- or middle-office, or fund management business areas.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make presentations covering business, technical, or sales topics.
  • Detailed knowledge of project phasing and reporting, on-site delivery, systems support, operational procedures, batch processing, system sizing and capacity planning, system backup, contingency, and disaster recovery.
Education and Qualifications
  • Third-level qualification essential, ideally a technical bachelor's degree.
  • Fluency in a European language highly desirable.
