Job Title: Exeter College Rowing Coach PositionDescription:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced rowing coach to manage our men's and women's squads, overseeing preparation for intercollegiate bumps races. The ideal candidate will balance competition with inclusivity, possess good understanding of boat rigging and equipment, and be available to coach sessions during term time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach around 6 water sessions per week across men's and women's boats
  • Programme and deliver training plans both on and off the water
  • Keep a log of erg scores and other data to enable fair crew selection
  • Provide technical feedback to rowers and coxes
  • Communicate clearly with captains and president to set attainable goals and measure progress
  • Help seniors coach novices, particularly novice coxes (mainly Michaelmas term)
  • Be available during term time to coach sessions (mornings and evenings)
  • Ability to programme and execute training plans both on and off the water
  • Ability to give focused technical feedback to rowers and coxes
  • Ability to balance encouraging competition with inclusivity
  • Previous coaching experience
  • Familiarity with Oxford college rowing, particularly bumps racing
  • Understanding of/experience coxing
  • Good understanding of boat rigging and equipment

Requirements:
