About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Case Engineer to join our team at First Recruitment Group. This is a contract opportunity based in Cumbria.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Safety Case Manager to develop, implement, and maintain safety cases for analytical services and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and documentation to support the development of B229 Safety Cases.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines to create operations schedules, engineering plans, operator instructions, and training packages.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders during safety case verification.
  • Present safety case documents to safety committees as required.
  • Oversee the production and completion of Safety Case Implementation Plans (SCIPs).
  • Support operator briefings on safety case changes.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders for facility safety cases.
  • Analyze safety case documentation, engineering drawings, and related information.
  • Utilize standard IT packages and databases.
  • Work independently to high standards, adhering to legislative, regulatory, and company policy requirements.
  • Demonstrate competence against Sellafield's Safety Case Advisor requirements.
  • Showcase previous experience in operations, engineering, technical disciplines, or support teams for operational plants.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety case implementation and regulatory interfaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in risk management, safety engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and industry standards.
