We are seeking an experienced and skilled midwife to join our team as a Diabetes Specialist Midwife. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to women with diabetes in pregnancy.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert care and support to women with diabetes in pregnancy, including those with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and coordination.
- Develop and implement evidence-based guidelines and protocols for diabetes care in pregnancy.
- Lead and participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care.
- Provide education and training to midwives and other healthcare professionals on diabetes care in pregnancy.
- Collaborate with the diabetes nurse specialists and medical teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Act as a source of expert knowledge and advice on diabetes in pregnancy, providing guidance to colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Registered Midwife with a degree in higher education or equivalent.
- Experience working as a midwife Band 6, with a broad range of midwifery experience, including community and outpatient settings.
- Sound knowledge and experience of diabetes and its impact on pregnancy, birth, and future health.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding requirements in maternity services.
