Job Summary

Abington Medical Centre is seeking a skilled Call Centre Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the practice and reception/admin service, promoting high practice standards of customer service.

Main Duties

  • Handle a large volume of telephone calls, obtaining and recording accurate information using the systems provided.
  • Communicate with patients and members of the practice team in a calm and respectful manner at all times.
  • Book appointments with healthcare professionals when required, in accordance with practice policies and procedures.
  • Make outgoing calls to patients, informing them accurately of all information following clinical instruction.
  • Direct patients to the practice website to obtain useful information and complete required forms.
  • Inform patients of the practice's online services and advise on how this service works.
  • Monitor the flow of patients into the waiting room.
  • Explain the registration process to new patients and those seeking temporary cover.
  • Ensure accurate messages are taken for all members of the practice team.
  • Direct information to the relevant staff member who can help with enquiries.
  • Act as a chaperone if required.
  • Ensure that all workstations are clean and tidy before and after use.

About Us

Abington Medical Centre serves the Borough of Northampton. Our team includes 8 GPs, 2 nurses, 2 healthcare assistants, a practice manager, and reception/admin staff. We also have additional roles to support the GPs, including Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescribers, and Paramedics.

The practice offers a full general practice service and runs specialist clinics for diabetes, COPD, and asthma sufferers.
