Practice Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Practice Nurse to join our team at Brook Medical Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent healthcare services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing routine nursing services to our patient population, including vaccinations, cervical smears, wound management, and ECGs.
- Helping the team manage chronic diseases such as Diabetes, COPD, and Asthma by routinely reviewing patients under the direction of the senior clinical team.
- Providing health advice to patients, undertaking immunisations, injections, and vaccinations, and conducting health checks for newly registered patients and NHS healthchecks.
- Carrying out screenings, lipids, blood pressure, cervical smears, and other routine monitoring procedures.
- Providing support and assistance with clinics, diabetic, hypertension, asthma, menopause, warfarin, minor surgery, contraception, and other services.
- Undertaking ECG and other routine monitoring procedures, and providing travel advice.
- Providing minor illness diagnosis and treatment, venepuncture, and the taking and preparing of pathology samples.
- Providing general nursing duties, dressings, ear syringing, and maintaining health promotion literature and information for patients.
- Assisting doctors with minor surgery procedures, when required, and inputting information onto the Practice clinical system.
- Using the Practice clinical system for patient searches, clinics, and patient recall, and managing long-term conditions including Asthma, Diabetes, and COPD.
- Ensuring that infection control procedures are followed, and maintaining treatment room equipment, including testing and recording.

Essential qualifications and experience include:
- Formal Nursing Qualification
- Registration with NMC
- Working independently as well as in a team environment
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- Experience of working in Primary Care
