Engineering Manager

The Engineering Supervisor plays a crucial role in the day-to-day management of engineering technicians, ensuring that all planned and corrective maintenance is completed efficiently and safely. Direct oversight of planned and unplanned maintenance activities provides valuable feedback to stakeholders in Engineering and Operations departments on the status and progress of all engineering work.

Working closely with other engineering functions, the Engineering Supervisor drives efficiency in the execution of all maintenance work, including planned and unplanned maintenance, capital projects, and continuous improvement activities. Root Cause and problem-solving techniques are used to eliminate repeat issues that decrease manufacturing equipment uptime. The Engineering Supervisor reports to the Engineering Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, plans and schedules work performed in assigned areas to ensure maximum uptime of equipment.
  • Oversees activities of technicians assigned to work areas to ensure compliance with Company, GMP, and legal requirements.
  • Maintains planned work schedules and handles emergency work resulting from the rendering of required services.
  • Manages the work order system within the area of responsibility.
  • Ensures necessary inventories of equipment and supplies are available.
  • Acts as a contractor controller, ensuring all contract work is reviewed and completed in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or HNC in a related field.
  • Substantial experience in the Engineering field, preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, or chemical processing industry.
  • Functional knowledge of cGMPs and manufacturing operations in FDA-regulated facilities.
