About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Psychologist Assistant to join our team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing psychological assessment, intervention, research, and evaluation services to individuals with Learning Disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake protocol-based psychological assessments of service users, including neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews.
  • Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user's problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and running of therapeutic groups.
  • Work with other staff to assess service users and review their care in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews.
  • Attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Maintain appropriate records in electronic or hard copy in line with Trust policies and Professional guidelines.
Requirements
  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Strong listening skills, empathic towards people in distress, and those with a variety of communication needs.
  • Ability to undertake all statutory and mandatory training, including Positive Behavioural Management (PBM), subject to Occupational Health clearance.
