About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Psychologist Assistant to join our team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychological assessment, intervention, research, and evaluation services to individuals with Learning Disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake protocol-based psychological assessments of service users, including neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews.
  • Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user's problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and running of therapeutic groups.
  • Work with other staff to assess service users and review their care in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews.
  • Attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Maintain appropriate records in electronic or hard copy, in line with Trust policies and professional guidelines.

Requirements

  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Strong listening skills, empathic towards people in distress, and those with a variety of communication needs.
  • Ability to undertake all statutory and mandatory training, including Positive Behavioural Management (PBM), subject to Occupational Health clearance.
