Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre at Colchester Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for managing a defined caseload of patients waiting for Orthopaedic surgery, recognising patients who need onward signposting to services, and overseeing pre-operative discharge planning.

Main Duties
  • Manage a defined caseload of patients waiting for Orthopaedic surgery
  • Recognise patients who need onward signposting to services
  • Oversee pre-operative discharge planning for elective patients
  • Input into the organisation of developing the pre op pathway alongside senior staff
  • Treat some patients in the inpatient setting, including amputee patients
  • Complete occasional home visits for complex patients
