About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at Cheshire East Council. As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a key role in providing a person-centred therapeutic service to vulnerable young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained, prioritizing the needs and wishes of the young people in our care.
  • Lead shifts and supervise staff to ensure the smooth operation of the home, adhering to the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Develop and implement systems to improve the administration of the home, ensuring resources are managed effectively and the home is well-presented and compliant with regulations.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for staff, conduct regular supervisions, and assess training needs to ensure the team is equipped to deliver exceptional care.
  • Prepare reports and attend professional meetings to ensure the home meets regulated requirements and achieves great reports at inspections.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, including leading the team on shift, acting up in the absence of the Registered Manager, and ensuring staff rotas are up-to-date and meet the needs of the home.
  • Manage daily budgets and work within budgetary guidelines to ensure the home operates efficiently.
Requirements
  • L3 Diploma in Children and Young People Workforce (or equivalent degree) and relevant leadership experience.
  • Up-to-date training record and experience working in successful Ofsted-registered EBD children's homes with good or outstanding ratings.
  • Excellent IT skills, including report writing, and knowledge of the Children's Home (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
