Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Support Workers to join our team at Swansea Council, providing wellbeing and educational support to pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (SEBD) in our Pupil Referral Unit.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will work closely with pupils, teachers, and other support staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individualized support to pupils with SEBD, promoting their emotional and social well-being
  • Assisting pupils with their educational needs, including literacy and numeracy skills
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Supporting pupils in developing life skills, such as independence and self-advocacy

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Recent and relevant experience working with pupils with SEBD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
