Warehouse Operations Manager

THE ROLE:
The Warehouse Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing a complex and fast-paced warehouse and logistics operation in a dynamic environment. This role will involve managing a team of warehouse staff, including warehouse managers, shift managers, and operatives, as well as interacting with transport operatives and drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage warehouse functions such as goods in, pick/pack, dispatch, stock/inventory, and health and safety.
- Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) and processes to drive performance and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing proactive and collaborative support to meet their needs.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with clients, understanding their requirements and responding positively.
- Manage the profit and loss (P&L) of the warehouse operation, including costs and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Recruit, onboard, and retain warehouse staff, ensuring a high-performing team.
- Use data to inform decisions and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Take ownership of the warehouse operation, working autonomously to drive results and growth.
THE PERSON:
We are seeking an experienced warehouse professional with a strong background in logistics and supply chain management. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a warehouse manager, operations manager, or general manager in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage budgets and costs.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage staff.
- Experience in managing client relationships and providing proactive support.
- Ability to work at shop-floor to board level, with strong IT skills and proficiency in MS Excel.
- A willingness to develop their career with a progressive business.
